Indulge me

Excuse me, but sometimes a girl's just gotta shop. It's summertime, the temperature's rising, the sales are on ... what's a girl to do but indulge in a little retail therapy.

I try not to buy clothes unless they're on sale and I am pretty pleased to say that most of the clothing that I do buy is at a very reasonable price.

Take those three bandeau tops for example ... £5 each! The matching headbands - £4, the teal floral skirt - £17, the white halter top - £6.99, the brown summber dress - £20 and the swimwear, both for under £35. The only thing that cost me a pretty penny in this collage was my haircut - £56 (ouch!).

I went to Bluewater yesterday which is a big shopping mall in Kent, with a couple of girls from work. No bigger than Chadstone but the shops were fantastic! And everything was on sale. I didn't buy everything in this pic from there just the brown dress and the haircut. The rest is an accummulation of buys over the past few weeks.

I think I'm now 100% ready for my summer holidays. Posted by Picasa

Idyllic

... is a perfect word to describe the Algarve coastline in Portugal. The beaches are gorgeous. Although, for the Mediterranean, the water was cold. Really cold. So much so that most of the swimming we did over the long weekend was in our resort swimming pool. We stayed here by the way. Great facilities, so so apartments, very big, a lot of restaurants and a lot of families. So if it's a party atmosphere you were after, I wouldn't recommend this resort, otherwise it's not a bad place to spend a weekend. They had some pretty dodgy karaoke on Friday night though!

I know I'm one for these picture collages and they don't show the best of the pictures, but it's really the only way I can provide a snapshot of a particular theme without posting loads of individual photographs, so ... forgive me. More pics can be found on my flicker site.

Paul is on a roll now by the way. He's already talking about booking our long weekend at the end of August. And come mid September there may just be some Greek Island hopping on the cards. Posted by Picasa

Alas, a holiday

Enough was enough. After all the talk of how evil I have been depriving Mel of the travelling lifestyle that is part and parcel with a move to the UK.

So here you have it - a sneak peek at the weekend's trip to the Algarve, Portugal.

Excuse the Joe Dodgy phone-cam photos: I am sure that Mel will upload the proper photos soon.

Jackpot

You remember Project Centurion? The goal was to average 100 hits per day over one month on Paul and Mel's UK. It failed.

Well, I run another blog for more geeky, Paul-centric stuff called Great Southern Lad. On it, I posted a response to the top 5 misconceptions I find people have about Australia.

It is currently averaging 4 hits. Every second. It has racked up 2000 hits in the first 7 hours of this day.

You might want to check it out.
